I want to add in addition to these you could add increase of taxes. Remember this is not about health care it is about control.

1) It has never worked anywhere else.
    A) Why do Canadians and rich people from across the ocean come here for health care?
    B) We already have Government Hospitals - Veterans Hospitals - Ask a Vet about a waiting list and quality of care, etc.

2) Right to privacy will be completely shattered.

3) Huge medical decisions such as procedures, expenses, equipment, etc. will be run by bureaucrats. Refer to Post Office, IRS, Public Schools.

4) It will virtually stop current research and development because the government will need the doctors' profits to run the bureaucracy.

5) It will take the best and brightest minds out of the medical field because of government control that destroys the incentive system.

6) It will force medical providers to do or not to do procedures in order to be a profitable system.

7) Specialized fields will shrink as profits and investors will no longer look at potential consumers, just need.

8) You will pay for everyone's health choices from drug/alcohol abuse to abortion and sex change operations.

9) People will have to wait in line to be considered for vital care because the market will no longer influence how services are provided.

10) Those considered less "needy or needed" will receive only left over care. The very young, the very old and the very needy. They will pay the ultimate price.

11) Drug companies will be forced to abandon research and development as all profit initiative will be consumed by regulations.

12) The potential for saving money will outweigh the potential of saving lives.

13) Untrained and under trained personnel will eventually be expected to handle procedures previously done by trained medical professionals.

14) Health driven programs focused on prevention will lose their effectiveness as there will be no benefit to companies to save health dollars.

15) Only the very wealthy will have access to excellent medical care which will be available north and south of our borders which will also result in further job loss.

While some of these statements may seem outrageous not only is there clear historical precedent those precedents are also contemporaneous by the nations that are currently operating in "Socialized Medicine". Please note that as you hear people speak in favor of "Socialized Medicine" the word excellent has been replaced by the word available. While there are some areas in life where one can exist on availability as opposed to excellence (maybe housing maybe transportation), health care is simply not one of them. There is one other thing that must be said "God desires us to be reliant on Him and not on government". It was God Himself who instituted government in men's lives for protection not provision.

There has never been a National Health Care Program that is equal to free market programs at the same time.

Every national health care program eventually takes on a eugenic type philosophy, because government destroys initiative, productivity and is incapable of compassion.

Mission Trip to Guatemala

I will be going on a Mission trip to Guatemala leaving Thursday July 16, and I will be returning Friday July 24th. I am leading a team from Living Hope Church, in Latrobe Pa. We are going to be preaching the Gospel to villagers in the Mountains of Guatemala that may have not heard the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

So pray for us while we are gone that God may use us in a great way and that He is glorified.

I will be posting a full report here when I get back, so be looking for that. Until then I will not be posting.

Obedience is the Key to Discipleship

When Jesus said to the disciples "come follow Me" they did what He asked them to do. They dropped everything and followed Jesus. That is what a disciple does, they obey and follow instructions. When God sent Elijah to Elisha, what happened. Elisha stopped working with his oxen and followed Elijah to become a disciple.

Jesus lived and taught His disciples and we must be willing to do the same today if we want to raise up disciples that will further the Kingdom of God. Also the disciples must be willing to learn and be obedient as true disciples in the bible are obedient to their leaders.

In todays American church we seem to use informational discipleship, which means that people are attending meetings and calling themselves disciples without obedience or sacrifice. To be a disciple you must follow and obey. I am a disciple because like Elisha I follow a man of God and I trust God to use that man to lead me to greater influence and obedience to Jesus.

A leading christian blog author Ron English in an article titled "What Manner of Man is This?" that the disciples obeyed Jesus because they saw some of His works.

The dictionary definition of disciple according to dictionary.com:
A person who is a pupil or an adherent of the doctrines of another; follower

A Great Message From a Street Preacher

NAME CALLING

Proverbs 25:11 - A word fitly spoken, [is like] apples of gold in pictures of silver.
My desire is to Glorify Christ, to display the power of God through the preaching of the Gospel – the cross. I want my words to be fitly spoken. As one who uses words to describe sin, I use descriptive language to identify specific sinful behavior and magnify the sin of the particular people group I am preaching to. I want to utilize every word the Spirit of God brings to me as I preach with the intent to arrest the heart of the hearers and for them to see their need for forgiveness.

The words that I use have no malice, no hatred, and no malicious intent in them; every word I speak has the motive (as much as I understand my own motives) for the highest good of my listeners, even though sometimes at that moment it sounds like a hard word.

Jesus, John the Baptist, and Paul all spoke hard words to describe the heart of man. They did not use words in general terms such as “us”, “all,” or “we”, they used words that were specific to the hearers and directed those words to them.

Jesus said in John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil…”

Paul talking to Elymas the sorcerer says in Acts 13:10 “you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the straight ways of the Lord?”

John the Baptist speaking to the Pharisees and Sadducees said in Matt 3:7 “Brood of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”

There are many examples in the Bible where specific words are used to describe behavior such as fornication, adultery, sodomy or the characteristics of the human nature of man such as sinfulness, wickedness, evil and foolishness. This is not name calling, it is the way God identifies sin behavior and magnifies how bad it is. Words are powerful and when I preach I want to use every word that the Holy Spirit brings to me in the most effective way possible, for them to be fitly spoken!. My aim in preaching is to be direct. To use simple and direct language for the hearer to have no excuses for not understanding what sin is and how exceedingly sinful the offence is against infinite God.

This type of preaching might be identified as confrontational evangelism, because the preacher is direct and to the point, being specific and describing the sin that humans are practicing or participating in. When I preach I do not preach in general terms or use vocabulary not relative to the event or the situation. Preaching that is aimed to the hearer is personal in nature and the individual who hears it and is convicted by it will respond in a confrontational way. He might get angry and defend himself or tell me I am judging him because of the personal nature of my preaching. This approach might appear to be unproductive and might be viewed as if it is turning people off from Christianity. In the natural I would agree, but in the Spiritual realm, it is evident that the Holy Spirit is troubling the mind of the unbeliever.

This is what happens when the Holy Spirit convicts men of sin, righteousness and judgment to come. There is a response. Conviction demands response weather good or bad. Any response brings joy to my heart and I get a big smile on my face, because I witness the Holy Spirit is speaking to the individual, he is convicted and is responding.
Jesus tells us that the response will be negative John 15:18, 19 “If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

True messengers will not have people saying great things about them. Jesus told us in Luke 6:26 “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! For so did their fathers to the false prophets.” When I preach I am not trying to get sinners to like me so they will come to my church. I am trying to communicate the heart of God toward the lifestyle they live in.
Jesus said in John 15:20 “Remember the word that I said unto you; the servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.”

If they keep God’s word they will keep ours as preachers. But if they hate God’s word they will hate preachers and persecute them. It will cause them to hate the preacher and want to kill him as they tried to do to Paul in Act 14:19 And there came thither [certain] Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew [him] out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

I am not saying that I am the best messenger. My vocabulary is small; my words are few and simple. Most people would say I am unqualified to speak for the King of Kings as His ambassador. I would agree, I am nothing, I can do nothing, and I have nothing to give to Him who sits on the throne of the universe. I stand in fear and in much trembling inside my heart desiring to do my best in faith that the Holy Spirit would speak His words through me. That is my prayer every time I stand to speak for Christ. My heart is moved by the Holy Spirit to go and display the love of Christ in both His goodness and His severity. Faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God. May the Holy Spirit give me words that are fitly spoken to describe sin, so sinners would see their need for forgiveness, and repent and believe in the Gospel.

Sarah Palin Quits as Governor?

Sarah Palin today announced that she will be stepping down as Governor of Alaska. Her reason was that she was pursuing other interests. Many people have accused her of bailing out on the people of Alaska which she was sworn in to serve.

Karl Malden Dead at 97

Karl Malden was a great actor and he played some major parts in his long acting career. I enjoyed many movies that he made. My favorite was when he was with Burt Lancaster in the Birdman of Alcatraz. I think out of all of his accomplishments the one I admire the most is that he was married for 71 years to his wife. That is something I am trying to follow his example in because it takes self sacrifice to be married that long. In addition Hollywood Stars are now married for weeks not years, I think all of Hollywood should be following His example.

It is truly important to be a good husband in life, but it won't get you into Heaven. I wonder where Karl Malden is now? I did not know the man but if he did not know Jesus Christ as Lord than Karl Malden is in Hell right now. Good works can not get you into Heaven. The only way to Heaven faith in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the sins of man. Life is short if you don't know where you will go when you die, call on the name of Jesus right now. Then read your bible and go to church it will change your eternal destination. Lets pray for his family, as the are surely missing him right now.

Abortion is Murder and the Church is Responsible

Jesus died so that we may live. Now America is determined that we are able to kill. God created life and who are we to "choose" who lives and who dies? We are made in Gods image and he created each person for His glory. When we murder babies we are in direct defiance to God Himself and we are bringing God's judgement and anger upon ourselves.

The church is responsible because God has charged us with being His voice. We are responsible because we have allowed this brutality to go on. We have not demanded that every human has the right to life. The world says that it is good to be "pro choice" and choose to murder but God says that it is wrong.

The Church is responsible because we have not joined together as one voice and "said enough is enough stop the killing" Lets take action get out and speak, stand up for truth stand up for life!

Proverbs 24:11-12 "Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don't stand back and let them die. Don't try to disclaim responibility by saying you didn't know about it."
